In the framework of the study of transmitters for Radio-over-Fibre Communications, the Injection-Locked Laser’s performance has been analyzed. The Injection-Locked Laser has been modelled through an accurate set of Rate Equations obtained by properly modifying the solitary laser’s set, and evaluated by means of two different numerical approaches. The results obtained, even though based on different rationales, are in good agreement and highlight significant improvements in comparison with the solitary laser’s behaviour, like bandwidth enhancement, noise and frequency chirping reduction, along with an advantageous performance/cost compromise.
