The odours removal experimental system of Bologna wastewater treatment plant is realized by two single-phase biofilters each one treating an air flux of 8,4 mc/s through an open bad area of 300 mq. Biofilter n.1 receives air coming from primary phases and utilizes as biofiltering media wooden chip, while biofilter n. 2 take air from sludge treatment line and partially from aeration phases, filtering action is realized by a vegetable mixture composed of peat and briar. Each plant has been controlled by input-output analysis. H2S, NH3, CH3SH concentrations have been choice as odour–state indicators. Research has been conducted testing applicability to the case study of an analytical model based on typical attached biomass kinetics and verifying efficiency for each biofilter in different condition of loading and temperature. The experimental survey has been carried out with the active collaboration of HERA Bologna Company and particularly with the aid of the municipal WWTP management personnel.

Abstract
The experimental survey has been carried out with the active collaboration of HERA Bologna Company and particularly with the aid of the municipal WWTP management personnel.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
