NIRs and an electronic nose were used to perform early diagnosis of fire blight. Micropropagated pear plants, cv. Abbé Fétél, were maintained in controlled environmental conditions and inoculated with Erwinia amylovora. The electromagnetic spectra obtained with the NIRs were unable to distinguish the infected plants from the control plants. On the contrary, the analysis of volatile compounds from the control and inoculated micropropagated plants showed that it was possibile to provide an early diagnosis of the disease via the use of an electronic nose.

Abstract
NIRs and an electronic nose were used to perform early diagnosis of fire blight. Micropropagated pear plants, cv. Abbé Fétél, were maintained in controlled environmental conditions and inoculated with Erwinia amylovora. The electromagnetic spectra obtained with the NIRs were unable to distinguish the infected plants from the control plants. On the contrary, the analysis of volatile compounds from the control and inoculated micropropagated plants showed that it was possibile to provide an early diagnosis of the disease via the use of an electronic nose.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
