This paper investigates the design of residual generators in order to realize complete diagnosis schemes in linear multivariable systems with additive faults and disturbances. The use of canonical input-output polynomial forms leads to characterise in a straightforward fashion the basis of the subspace described by all the possible residual generators. These tools show how the mathematical description of these filters can be obtained by following also a black-box identification approach. An example is finally reported.

Abstract
This paper investigates the design of residual generators in order to realize complete diagnosis schemes in linear multivariable systems with additive faults and disturbances. The use of canonical input-output polynomial forms leads to characterise in a straightforward fashion the basis of the subspace described by all the possible residual generators. These tools show how the mathematical description of these filters can be obtained by following also a black-box identification approach. An example is finally reported.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
