The reduction and/or internalization of the environmental, spatial and social costs caused by the transport sector are policy objectives which have been commonly assumed over the last decades. To foster the planning and investment approach to transport internalization (i.e. reallocation of public resources in the context of spatial planning, infrastructural decisions and modal policies) Regions and Cities require a knowledge base created from real experiences and a set of methodological and analytical tools to guide and support plans and policies. The ECOTALE - External Costs of Transport and Land Equalisation – Project is carried out by 9 partners from 7 countries, and is coordinated by the Department of Architecture of Bologna University. It is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and made possible by the INTERREG IVC programme. Addressing road safety as one of the main external costs of transport, and coherently with COM(2010) 839 indications, the project focuses on cases study analysis and on the comparison among the adopted solutions in different countries, aiming at identifying good practices for the protection of the road users and for enhancing cities livability and sustainable mobility.

Abstract
Addressing road safety as one of the main external costs of transport, and coherently with COM(2010) 839 indications, the project focuses on cases study analysis and on the comparison among the adopted solutions in different countries, aiming at identifying good practices for the protection of the road users and for enhancing cities livability and sustainable mobility.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
