The rotational spectrum of 4-hydroxy-pyridine has been investigated by free-jet absorption millimeter-wave spectroscopy. Only the enolic form is observed. All transitions are split into two component lines due to the internal rotation of the hydroxyl group. From the ground state splitting [DE = 7.97(4) MHz] the barrier to internal rotation V2 = 1513(10) cm-1 has been obtained.

Abstract
The rotational spectrum of 4-hydroxy-pyridine has been investigated by free-jet absorption millimeter-wave spectroscopy. Only the enolic form is observed. All transitions are split into two component lines due to the internal rotation of the hydroxyl group. From the ground state splitting [DE = 7.97(4) MHz] the barrier to internal rotation V2 = 1513(10) cm-1 has been obtained.File in questo prodotto:
