The study presents an analysis of new methodologies of non-contact surveying and 3D modelling applied to the Gates in Bologna, with open source or low cost software that work with DSM (dense stereo matching ) technologies. These make it possible to obtain a texturized 3D model while reducing the costs and the time of data collecting and elaborating as compared to traditional surveying methods. The object of the study is to assess the quality and the scientific value of surveying data as regards the control of uncertainty.

Abstract
The study presents an analysis of new methodologies of non-contact surveying and 3D modelling applied to the Gates in Bologna, with open source or low cost software that work with DSM (dense stereo matching ) technologies. These make it possible to obtain a texturized 3D model while reducing the costs and the time of data collecting and elaborating as compared to traditional surveying methods. The object of the study is to assess the quality and the scientific value of surveying data as regards the control of uncertainty.File in questo prodotto:
