Cyclohexanone (synonyms: anone, hexanone, ketohexamethylene, nadone, pimelic ketone and setone) is a synthetic organic liquid used primarily as an intermediate in the production of nylon. Other minor applications are as an intermediate, additive and solvent in a variety of products. Occupational exposure is possible in some industries. A typical use of this substance is as a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) solvent to facilitate the gluing of materials to plastic. A case of contact allergy to cyclohexanone was described in 1992 (1). We now report a further case.

Abstract

Cyclohexanone (synonyms: anone, hexanone, ketohexamethylene, nadone, pimelic ketone and setone) is a synthetic organic liquid used primarily as an intermediate in the production of nylon. Other minor applications are as an intermediate, additive and solvent in a variety of products. Occupational exposure is possible in some industries. A typical use of this substance is as a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) solvent to facilitate the gluing of materials to plastic. A case of contact allergy to cyclohexanone was described in 1992 (1). We now report a further case.
