Prorocentrum lima (Dinophyta) was cultured under varying N- and P-limitation conditions. The growth ability of the algae decreased during the stationary phase, while the cell volume progressively increased. Okadaic acid and DTX1 production increased under nutrient unbalanced conditions with a higher effect due to P- than to N-limitation.
