CHRIS sensor is operating since 2001 on board of Proba-1 . The San Rossore Natural Park was chosen as one of CHRIS test site in the framework of the Cat.1 LBR ESA-EOPI Project ID.2832 on “Assimilation of biophysical and biochemical variables in biochemical and hydrological models at landscape scale”. During summer 2009 CHRIS multi-angle images have been acquired during ESA SEN3EXP campaign over San Rossore giving a valuable contribution to the understanding of vegetation changes at regional scale in coastal zone areas characterized by heavy anthropogenic activities. In this paper we summarize our activity concerning CHRIS/Proba-1 data processing and their application to environmental investigation for a better understanding of the San Rossore Park ecosystem. Particular attention was paid to precise validation of acquired data during SEN3EXP campaign, using the facilities available at San Rossore test site. The results of these activities are presented and discussed.
