Despite that conformational analysis is more than 70 years old, it is still valid today. The modern spectroscopic techniques such as NMR, ECD, VCD supported by the recent development of computational tools based on DFT and post-HF methods allow the conformational analysis of large organic molecules to be conducted in a seamless way, as well as the reliable prediction of many spectroscopic properties. Albeit sometimes hidden and obscured into other research topics, the conformational analysis has turned out to be of great helpfulness in various applications of the modern organic chemistry. The experimental approach to conformational analysis will show some examples of dynamic NMR1, and chiro-optical techniques. The structural analysis and the assignment of relative and absolute configuration of organic molecules by the synergic use of NMR spectroscopy and chirooptical techniques, supported by quantummechanical calculations,2 will be presented to address one of the relevant topics of modern conformational analysis:
