In the complexity of the contemporary society it is possible to recognize promising cases of socio-technical innovation that are at the same time, solutions to some current problems and meaningful steps towards a sustainable society. These cases can be found in a variety of fields: from the ecological re-orientation of production systems (Biggs, Ryan and Wiseman, 2010), to the construction of an active welfare (Cottam, 2009), from the empowerment of diffuse micro-enterprises (Murray, 2009), to local community sustainable development programs (Manzini, 2010).

Abstract
In the complexity of the contemporary society it is possible to recognize promising cases of socio-technical innovation that are at the same time, solutions to some current problems and meaningful steps towards a sustainable society. These cases can be found in a variety of fields: from the ecological re-orientation of production systems (Biggs, Ryan and Wiseman, 2010), to the construction of an active welfare (Cottam, 2009), from the empowerment of diffuse micro-enterprises (Murray, 2009), to local community sustainable development programs (Manzini, 2010).I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
