CULTURAL MEDIATION AND WAYS TO CITIZENSHIP In the first part the paper presents a short reconstruction of the aims and the general character of the cultural mediation applied to community conflicts and also of the different patterns of mediation. Then we analyse an interesting experience carried out in Ferrara, in a social environment with big problems because of the presence of many and different ethnic groups. In the second part the paper presents a thought about obstacles for foreign women's social integration and especially concerned with accessibility to health services. Next the pioneering experience of cultural mediation in health services in Bologna is analysed. A special attention is paid to the character of the cultural mediatrix: she is like a "bridge" and a "crossing" of borders; she has often run the same routes of migration herself and her presence is fundamental in accompanying and leading other women. Finally there is a conclusive thought about the roles of cultural mediation.
