Sexuality and human life have been major concerns for the Catholic hierarchy since 1930 on. We suggest that in the twenty-first century these themes are gradually giving way to economy and ecology as prominent areas of Catholic teaching and intervention. We should avoid to label the new agenda as progressive or conservative though. Indeed, these issues are stirring a wave of activism in both camps. Economy and ecology are likely therefore to represent significant challenges for the global Church in the decades to come.

Abstract
Sexuality and human life have been major concerns for the Catholic hierarchy since 1930 on. We suggest that in the twenty-first century these themes are gradually giving way to economy and ecology as prominent areas of Catholic teaching and intervention. We should avoid to label the new agenda as progressive or conservative though. Indeed, these issues are stirring a wave of activism in both camps. Economy and ecology are likely therefore to represent significant challenges for the global Church in the decades to come.File in questo prodotto:
