Philosophical investigations of psychiatric disorders deal with a number of issues that can strongly colour conceptual and methodological perspectives. Among them, a few aspects are particularly relevant to any causal and explanatory account of mental diseases.The contribution addresses and discusses different trends in research on psychiatric disorders, and in the costruction of different models promising to provide insights into the workings of the human brain from different disciplinary perspectives.
