Hydrophobic-oleophobic coatings were prepd. by using the sol-gel process with org.-inorg. hybrids based on perfluoropolyether-polycapralactone (PFPE-PCL) copolymers. Hybrid coatings were prepd. by changing the org.-inorg. ratio, the PFPE/PCL ratio in the copolymer, and the reaction conditions. A complete surface characterization was carried out by contact angle anal. and x-ray photoemission spectroscopy (XPS). In all cases the wettabilily of the coatings was found to be very low. Surface compn. anal. showed that the surface segregation of the fluorinated PFPE segments was always high enough to give a very high hydrophobic character to the coating surface.

Abstract
Hydrophobic-oleophobic coatings were prepd. by using the sol-gel process with org.-inorg. hybrids based on perfluoropolyether-polycapralactone (PFPE-PCL) copolymers. Hybrid coatings were prepd. by changing the org.-inorg. ratio, the PFPE/PCL ratio in the copolymer, and the reaction conditions. A complete surface characterization was carried out by contact angle anal. and x-ray photoemission spectroscopy (XPS). In all cases the wettabilily of the coatings was found to be very low. Surface compn. anal. showed that the surface segregation of the fluorinated PFPE segments was always high enough to give a very high hydrophobic character to the coating surface.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
