Globularia nudicaulis has been found for the firts time naturally infected by CMV. This virus was mechanically transmitted to herbaceous host plants. RT-PCR and SSCP were employed to characterize the CMV isolate. The results showed a sequence variant that was different from other CMV italian isolates.
