The paper focuses on the term "self-translation". Starting from the assumption that in the case of self-translation the author and the translator are one and the same person, and the object of this person’s activity is at the same time the object of both writing and translating, as well as from the fact that in this person two languages coexist, the paper reflects upon the possible extensions of the conceptual field of the term.
