In this work a simplified fluid dynamic model aimed at predicting the performance of industrial filter press is presented. The work is based on the analysis of experimental data collected both at DIEMME Filtration laboratory and from the filtration of industrial effluent discarded from an aluminium industry. The model allows the calculation of the main variables of the filtration operation as a function of the slurry characteristics and the operating conditions.

Abstract
