CoPt3/Pt thin films have been deposited by pulsed laser deposition on MgO (1 0 0) at different deposition temperature. Both the underlayer and the magnetic layer grow epitaxially with a crystallographic orientation that depends on the deposition temperature. The structural, microstructural and magnetic properties of the CoPt films have been investigated.
