Abstract
The East West connections are becoming stronger and stronger, based on economic benefits requested and offered from both parts, on the basis of different systems and organizations. Europe is becoming bigger, from the economic, social, political point of view, owing to the process of integration, but smaller from a geographical point of view, since we live in a more connected world, facilitated by physical and virtual communication. From its part, the European Union becomes politically stronger, meanwhile the European continent is shrinking, since it becomes more homogeneous. The major reason of all that is due to the collapse of the iron curtain which shifts countries from one side to the other. Since 20 years from the Berlin wall fall down, we can try to trace the steps followed by the West-East interrelationships among which the tourism has had an important role, due to its image of peace and its more free movements due to its harmlessness. We can send a gaze on the East from Italy, geographically connected to the East, through its borders and shared waters of one sea now pertaining to two Western and four Eastern countries. Along the history we could identify the advancement of the relations through a privileged means of communication such as tourism is.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
