The paper will present results of a preliminary payload feasibility analysis performed in the frame of an on-going ESA sponsored study. The reference system is based on a single GEO satellite with European service area. The user link is assumed operating on a 15 MHz segment of the S-UMTS bands (2170-2200 MHz and 1980-2010 MHz respectively for the Down and uplinks). The feeder link is assumed operating in Ka-band. An S-band antenna of 12 m diameter was considered. The payload architecture and constraints imposed by OGBF will be discussed.

Abstract
The paper will present results of a preliminary payload feasibility analysis performed in the frame of an on-going ESA sponsored study. The reference system is based on a single GEO satellite with European service area. The user link is assumed operating on a 15 MHz segment of the S-UMTS bands (2170-2200 MHz and 1980-2010 MHz respectively for the Down and uplinks). The feeder link is assumed operating in Ka-band. An S-band antenna of 12 m diameter was considered. The payload architecture and constraints imposed by OGBF will be discussed.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
