According to international research, Climate Change can have a huge impact on coastal areas. In order to increase the resilience of local communities and motivate policy makers to implement both structural measures, such as dikes, and non-structural measures, such as warning systems, it is important to involve community members in the decision-making process. Thus, understanding citizens' perception of flooding risk, their preparedness and perceptions of possible mitigation measures are critical elements for addressing focused and effective governance. This paper will provide evidence from Cesenatico's residents and workers (Emilia-Romagna, Italy), addressing open issues and possible solutions for future policies.

Abstract
According to international research, Climate Change can have a huge impact on coastal areas. In order to increase the resilience of local communities and motivate policy makers to implement both structural measures, such as dikes, and non-structural measures, such as warning systems, it is important to involve community members in the decision-making process. Thus, understanding citizens' perception of flooding risk, their preparedness and perceptions of possible mitigation measures are critical elements for addressing focused and effective governance. This paper will provide evidence from Cesenatico's residents and workers (Emilia-Romagna, Italy), addressing open issues and possible solutions for future policies.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
