In this paper the MHD interaction in the hypersonic flow around an axi-symmetric cone is investigated. The aim of the work is to provide a feasibility analysis of a proposed electrodynamic configuration suited for plasmas with high electron mobility. A numerical model coupling the Euler equations with the electrodynamics under the assumption of Rem <<1 has been utilized for the calculation. The MHD regime has been investigated for different value of the electron mobility.

Abstract

In this paper the MHD interaction in the hypersonic flow around an axi-symmetric cone is investigated. The aim of the work is to provide a feasibility analysis of a proposed electrodynamic configuration suited for plasmas with high electron mobility. A numerical model coupling the Euler equations with the electrodynamics under the assumption of Rem <<1 has been utilized for the calculation. The MHD regime has been investigated for different value of the electron mobility.
