The long-stressed question on the identification of voyages of Odysseus in Odyssey 9-12 is analyzed in the perspective of poetic and narrative geography in epic with a particular emphasis on the point of view of the receivers. The narratological structure of the poem and the literary category of the ‘fantastic’ can be an useful tool for interpreting the books from nine to twelve of Odyssey.
