In this project, we planned to investigate the copper and zinc doped V2O5 gel by studying the structural environment of the copper, zinc and the vanadium. We wanted to focus on the mechanism of the ion insertion into the host by studying the „sites‟ which the guest ions could be located. The argument is particularly important because different insertion mechanism (of various cations) could explain the properties of the ion insertion-release in the gel. This objective could be achieved by using synchrotron radiation to collect x-ray absorption (XAS) spectra, either in the XANES and EXAFS region with a suitable signal to noise ratio in order to perform a reliable data analysis.

Abstract
In this project, we planned to investigate the copper and zinc doped V2O5 gel by studying the structural environment of the copper, zinc and the vanadium. We wanted to focus on the mechanism of the ion insertion into the host by studying the „sites‟ which the guest ions could be located. The argument is particularly important because different insertion mechanism (of various cations) could explain the properties of the ion insertion-release in the gel. This objective could be achieved by using synchrotron radiation to collect x-ray absorption (XAS) spectra, either in the XANES and EXAFS region with a suitable signal to noise ratio in order to perform a reliable data analysis.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
