EXAFS and XANES spectra have been acquired on new N-heterocyclic carbenes complexes at the metal core edges. Experiments which have been done at the Cu and Ag K-edge and Au L3 edge, have shed light on the local atomic environment on these complexes, whose structures are not accessible by the XRD.

Abstract
