In this work, the nodal integrated plate element (NIPE) formulation is presented for the analysis of functionally graded plates based on the first-order shear deformation theory. The NIPE appears suitable to describe the static behavior of functionally graded plates with a power law distribution of the mechanical properties. Results show the accuracy of the present formulation comparing the results with those available in literature.

Abstract

In this work, the nodal integrated plate element (NIPE) formulation is presented for the analysis of functionally graded plates based on the first-order shear deformation theory. The NIPE appears suitable to describe the static behavior of functionally graded plates with a power law distribution of the mechanical properties. Results show the accuracy of the present formulation comparing the results with those available in literature.
