In the present paper, the effects of pedestrian dynamic loads on a glued wooden pedestrian bridge are experimentally investigated and analysed. Dynamic pedestrian loads are applied in their different aspects as running, stepping, walking. Both frequency domain techniques and time domain techniques have been applied and compared in order to characterize the dynamic behavior of the structure, especially pedestrian dynamic action and damping properties of the footbridge. Time and frequency techniques provide for very similar results, in good agreement also with results obtained from a linear elastic finite element model.

Abstract
In the present paper, the effects of pedestrian dynamic loads on a glued wooden pedestrian bridge are experimentally investigated and analysed. Dynamic pedestrian loads are applied in their different aspects as running, stepping, walking. Both frequency domain techniques and time domain techniques have been applied and compared in order to characterize the dynamic behavior of the structure, especially pedestrian dynamic action and damping properties of the footbridge. Time and frequency techniques provide for very similar results, in good agreement also with results obtained from a linear elastic finite element model.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
