A Transformer Type High Temperature Superconducting Fault Current Limiter (HTSFCL) with adjustable trigger current level has been manufactured and tested. The experimental results confirm the effectiveness of the device in limiting the short circuit current. The adjustability of the trigger current by changing the magnetic coupling between the two windings is also confirmed. A circuit model of the device, based on the experimental data, is developed. The circuit model may be useful for studying the interaction of the devices with power networks and their design.

Abstract
A Transformer Type High Temperature Superconducting Fault Current Limiter (HTSFCL) with adjustable trigger current level has been manufactured and tested. The experimental results confirm the effectiveness of the device in limiting the short circuit current. The adjustability of the trigger current by changing the magnetic coupling between the two windings is also confirmed. A circuit model of the device, based on the experimental data, is developed. The circuit model may be useful for studying the interaction of the devices with power networks and their design.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
