eum (edition of macerata university) was founded in 2004 with the intent of promoting, honouring and making available the research works of professors and students who attend the University of Macerata. Whether it be in traditional or digital form, the research, academic and cultural works are published in various languages, essays, teaching materials and academic reviews. There are three different editorial series, eum >, eum x, eum T, respectively dedicated to particular kinds of subjects. eum > is conceived for promoting academic research, realized by University of Macerata lecturers and senior lecturers, expressing a consolidated but innovative knowledge. eum x is a series for young scholars during their first monographic works, available online or with the formula "print on demand". eum T is dedicated to honor private and public institutions together with any kind of organizations dealing with the promotion of cultural research concerning the Macerata territory. Each series has particular characteristics expressed and identified with a typographical format which has been thought to describe the tackled issues and to match readers expectations. In 2011, eum published its first e-book Stripsody: La vocazione musicale delle strisce a fumetti, written by Andrea Garbuglia, featured in both Italian and English. In the eum you can perform a function in the time of publishing universally. We not only relate the opportunities offered by the domestic production of the University of Macerata, but cut more agile, typical essays that address a wider audience than that of the micro academic communities. The letters combined in eum form an ideal library. Knowledge meant as secular temple, E turned upside-down becomes M. M like a table to sit at for reading and studying. Faculty of reading, a view over the world. Since 2010, eum has joined the coordination of the Italian University Press, UPI. The group, composed of 14 university publishing houses, has chosen the goal of quality publications derived from scientific research in the Italian circuit of scholarly communication. The articles may be found nationally and internationally thus valuing different and specific cultural skills. In 2011 they all participated together at the XXIV edition of the International Book Fair of Torino.
