This cadaveric study was carried out on ten hemi-pelves obtained from mature German Shepherd dogs: unilateral Double Pelvic Osteotomy (DPO) technique and dorsal ischial cortical osteotomy were performed on each left hemi-pelvis. The force, the moment of Angular ventral rotation and the ischial tension were compared between two groups: Double Pelvic Osteotomy (A) and 2.5 Pelvic Osteotomy (B). The outcome were reported in the Table 1. The comparison between the two groups (A-B) was statistically effective (p<0.001). We iphotized that complete fractures of ischium and implant failures can occur after DPO. The dorsal cortex osteotomy of the ischium provides a decrease of the tension on the ischial table in order to facilitate the acetabular rotation and to prevent the fracture of the ischium.

Abstract
The dorsal cortex osteotomy of the ischium provides a decrease of the tension on the ischial table in order to facilitate the acetabular rotation and to prevent the fracture of the ischium.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
