The aim of this study is to estimate the relative contribution of a MSWI to the pollutants burden in the surrounding area. To do that metals and soluble ions have been determined in samples of atmospheric depositions collected monthly from 2006 to 2010. Monitoring network was drawn on the basis of a dispersion map calculated by the atmospheric dispersion model Calpuff, applied to incinerator emissions. Sampling sites (5) were located in zones affected by different plant emissions fallouts. Basic statistical analysis and advanced multivariate analysis (PMF) have been applied to the obtained dataset. Thanks to this study it was possible to verify that the relative contribution of incinerator to the total pollution load seems to be negligible compared to the high background concentration, which could be likely ascribed to the nearby urban area
