In recent decades, humor has become to be considered as an important component of mental health other than a mere socially desirable individual's trait. Clown therapy represents a particular way of using humor to promote people's well-being. This chapter tries to clarify the role and position of clowns in hospitals, issues related to the clown training and education, and, above all, goals of this professionals. Clown doctors aim to work with patients' emotions, and reduction of anxiety related to hospitalization, treatment and the disease itself.
