This paper describes the right to interpreting during pre-trial crimnal investigations in six European Countries (Belgium/Flanders, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy and Scotland). An analysis of the current situation is presented and some recommendations are offered regarding the right to interpreting of suspects, victims and witnesses in view of the future implementation of Directive 2010/64 of the European Parliament and Council on the right to interpreting during criminal proceedings.
