Abstract
The personal and the collective expe- riences of which each is subject and participant do not start with his life, but before. Inside and around us survive the inheritance —often unin- tentional, but not less restrictive— of the people and generations who came before us: men and women, who as winners or losers, have suffered and enjoyed, loved and hated, from the distant days of prehistory to the present. If shared and respected the heritage can be- come the occasion of cohesion and building membership and collective identities, dynamic and vibrant, so open to new contributions. To promote these opportunities should be raised to seek broader horizons climbing on the shoulders of history, the giant that allows us to look further back and then ahead. «On the shoulders of the giant» was the slo- gan of the seventh edition of The International Feast of the History held in Bologna 16th to 24rd October 2010 that have strongly asserted the right of all to recognize and cultivate their own history before flattening imposed by consumer culture. An initiative that has been proposed as a major cultural tourist attraction of the city.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
