From a Tsunami Early Warning System (TEWS) design perspective, this paper presents few theoretical cases of earthquake- and landslide-generated tsunamis in western Iberia and in the eastern Mediterranean, with the aim of discussing the need for a Decision Support System integrating suitable real-time sensor networks of different types and a properly-designed knowledge-based archive of scenarios. The advantages of this type of approach over simpler tools, such as Decision Matrices, are briefly discussed.

Abstract
From a Tsunami Early Warning System (TEWS) design perspective, this paper presents few theoretical cases of earthquake- and landslide-generated tsunamis in western Iberia and in the eastern Mediterranean, with the aim of discussing the need for a Decision Support System integrating suitable real-time sensor networks of different types and a properly-designed knowledge-based archive of scenarios. The advantages of this type of approach over simpler tools, such as Decision Matrices, are briefly discussed.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
