This paper investigates the dynamic and seismic behavior of one-storey in-plane eccentric systems with particular attention focused on the category of torsionally flexible systems. The purpose of the work is to obtain a simplified formula for the estimation of the maximum displacement at the centre of mass and its relationship with the corresponding displacement of the equivalent not eccentric system. In detail, it is here analytically shown that the shift of the fundamental period of the asymmetric system with respect to the uncoupled longitudinal period of the equivalent not eccentric system strongly influences the dynamic behavior of torsionally flexible systems.

Abstract
This paper investigates the dynamic and seismic behavior of one-storey in-plane eccentric systems with particular attention focused on the category of torsionally flexible systems. The purpose of the work is to obtain a simplified formula for the estimation of the maximum displacement at the centre of mass and its relationship with the corresponding displacement of the equivalent not eccentric system. In detail, it is here analytically shown that the shift of the fundamental period of the asymmetric system with respect to the uncoupled longitudinal period of the equivalent not eccentric system strongly influences the dynamic behavior of torsionally flexible systems.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
