In this paper engineering drawing techniques are examined with a particular focus on the use of the modulus concept in design. Modulus concept here means a unit of measure based on experience and relation to key attributes from which all the design corresponds. This approach appears to be more familiar in architecture; however, less so inmechanical engineering. To illustrate this a historical review of the modulus concept is given and its applicability for today's mechanical engineering practise is shown.

Abstract
In this paper engineering drawing techniques are examined with a particular focus on the use of the modulus concept in design. Modulus concept here means a unit of measure based on experience and relation to key attributes from which all the design corresponds. This approach appears to be more familiar in architecture; however, less so inmechanical engineering. To illustrate this a historical review of the modulus concept is given and its applicability for today's mechanical engineering practise is shown.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
