PROBYST is a feasibility study of an innovative nuclear device to generate 15 MeV protons for future radio-biology in vivo tests. The device should exploit the nuclear reaction 2H(3He , p)4He to obtain high energy protons (13 - 17 MeV), starting from low energy 3He ions (800 keV). These latter may come by a low cost portable compact accelerator that can be employed in a biological research environment.

Abstract
PROBYST is a feasibility study of an innovative nuclear device to generate 15 MeV protons for future radio-biology in vivo tests. The device should exploit the nuclear reaction 2H(3He , p)4He to obtain high energy protons (13 - 17 MeV), starting from low energy 3He ions (800 keV). These latter may come by a low cost portable compact accelerator that can be employed in a biological research environment.File in questo prodotto:
