RID is an interaction device designed for smart spaces (SS) applications. It is handheld by the user and able to remotely perform tasks such as detection, localization and identification of items (also hidden). Any information, related to their activities, may then be stored and updated. In this way the user is able to interact with the SS by updating it in a natural way. This is accomplished by combining state-of-art technologies, for localization in harsh indoor ambient, with RFID capabilities.

Abstract

RID is an interaction device designed for smart spaces (SS) applications. It is handheld by the user and able to remotely perform tasks such as detection, localization and identification of items (also hidden). Any information, related to their activities, may then be stored and updated. In this way the user is able to interact with the SS by updating it in a natural way. This is accomplished by combining state-of-art technologies, for localization in harsh indoor ambient, with RFID capabilities.
