The aim of this article is reflecting on the genesis and evolution of the connection between constitutional and national identity in the Norwegian political system. The outcome consists in accepting the inherent ambiguities of collective identities: on the one hand they are a major factor of social cohesion, creating ties between individuals allowing the existence of the state structure and on the other hand they are a factor of social rupture, introducing the concept of an opposition between “us” and the concept of “others” who can be so intense as to break the political and social order.

Abstract
The aim of this article is reflecting on the genesis and evolution of the connection between constitutional and national identity in the Norwegian political system. The outcome consists in accepting the inherent ambiguities of collective identities: on the one hand they are a major factor of social cohesion, creating ties between individuals allowing the existence of the state structure and on the other hand they are a factor of social rupture, introducing the concept of an opposition between “us” and the concept of “others” who can be so intense as to break the political and social order.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
