Abstract
A role of increasing importance in UA is transforming small-scale horticulture into a commercial operation producing high-value vegetables for sale, to create jobs and bring income into local economies. In this kind of UA, the protection of products from damage caused by harmful organisms is essential. Educational urban farms can use pest control techniques in training. Appropriate integrated pest management (IPM) strategies are also critical to the protection of biodiversity in city region landscapes. This means that pest management strategies in UA need to take account of a wide range of factors, including an efficient use of resources, multiplicity of goals and objectives of urban growers, public health and safety, socioeconomic and cultural factors.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
