The paper analyzes the role of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) in supporting public investment and infrastructure development in Italy. In a context marked by European public finance constraints and successive economic crises, CDP has taken on an increasingly important role in promoting economic development. Its transformation into a joint-stock company in 2003 strengthened its financial operations, which are divided into separate and ordinary management activities. Its position outside the perimeter of public administration allows it to support investments without directly affecting public debt. A key development was the recognition of CDP as a National Promotional Institution, with responsibilities in financing, advisory services, and technical assistance. CDP has also contributed to the implementation of the Juncker Plan, InvestEU, and, more recently, Next Generation EU. Particular importance is attached to investments in sustainable infrastructure, the energy transition, digitalization, and social and healthcare infrastructure. Cooperation with banking foundations has also supported the development of instruments such as F2i and the Housing Investment Fund. In the field of social housing, CDP has helped expand the supply of affordable housing for middle-income households. Finally, CDP plays a central role in the implementation of the NRRP, acting as an advisor, lender, and investor in support of public administrations and businesses.

Abstract
Finally, CDP plays a central role in the implementation of the NRRP, acting as an advisor, lender, and investor in support of public administrations and businesses.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
