[In]tangible projects 141 An interdisciplinary model for the next nature-based city EMMA VERONESE University of Bologna ABSTRACT Climate change and the increase in frequency and intensity of catastrophic environmental phenomena closely related to it are problems we must begin to deal with. The design of the city represents a field where it is essential to intervene. However, the starting point for a successful action can only be a utopian project. Considering the relevance of the current emergency, this contribution investigates the possibility of outlining a theoretical and practical intervention model. This will be developed from Pierre Donadieu's utopian proposal for the urban countryside and designed by drawing on knowledge from different disciplinary fields to respond to the urgent requirements of today's city. Certainly, the city is now at the centre of all social, environmental, architectural, and economic considerations, but it is essential to revise its conventional paradigm by recognising the urban organism within the natural environment along with everything else connected to it. Through the critical analysis of some integrative theoretical, methodological, and design components of the French architect's utopia, this paper aims to enhance the dialogue on potential future urban scenarios
