Per un uso transnazionale del patrimonio culturale delle università: il progetto "Muse-unveiling"

This article presents Muse-unveiling, a digital valorization project aimed at stimulating the building of new narratives around university cultural heritage, shifting the focus from the history of individual universities to a European dimension. To this end, during 2025 nine groups of professors, staff, and doctoral students from nine universities belonging to the European University Alliance Una Europa selected objects from the collections of their respective universities. They then reconstructed their biographies and collectively created three virtual exhibitions: The Heritage of the Dialogue and the Circulation of Ideas between Universities; Unveiling the Environmental Heritage of University Museums and Dissonant Legacies: Engaging with Difficult University Heritage. The article focuses on the curatorial work of the second exhibition, dedicated to environmental heritage. The exhibition was designed using a participatory methodology focused on analysing the objects' biographies and enabling them to dialogue with each other, revealing historical continuities and opening up new perspectives on the value of university collections in addressing contemporary challenges.
