This essay examines the European Commission's Fair Labour Mobility Package and assesses its potential to strengthen the legal framework governing labour mobility within the European Union. It analyses the three main pillars of the initiative: the reform of the coordination of social security systems, the future role of the European Labour Authority, and the enforcement of workers' labour mobility. The essay argues that, despite its ambitious objectives, the Package leaves several structural shortcomings unresolved, particularly about enforcement mechanisms and institutional cooperation. It also highlights the absence of any proposal to revise directive no 54/2014/EU on Free Movement Bodies within the Fair Labour Mobility Package, describing it as a missed opportunity to improve the practical protection of mobile workers.

Abstract
This essay examines the European Commission's Fair Labour Mobility Package and assesses its potential to strengthen the legal framework governing labour mobility within the European Union. The essay argues that, despite its ambitious objectives, the Package leaves several structural shortcomings unresolved, particularly about enforcement mechanisms and institutional cooperation. It also highlights the absence of any proposal to revise directive no 54/2014/EU on Free Movement Bodies within the Fair Labour Mobility Package, describing it as a missed opportunity to improve the practical protection of mobile workers.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
