This contribution describes preliminary insights on a research work that extends a three-dimensional model formulated as a system of Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs). The model includes the Willingness To Pay (WTP) as an economic parameter to explore the potential dynamics within an environmental system decomposed into landscape units (LUs) in which the human factor influences the environment. The case study is the UNESCO wine landscape in Piedmont, and the results here presented refer to two representative areas. The purpose of this ongoing work is to test the sensitivity of the mathematical model with the WTP parameter conceived as the payment of a certain monetary amount in view of supporting the preservation of the landscape. Therefore, the authors recognise this model as a potentially useful decision-aiding tool for UNESCO landscape planning and management.
