This article reports on the comparison of the expected environmental impacts by Life Cycle Assessment methodology of two cellulose dissolution processes: the laboratory scale developed dissolution process with the ionic liquid BmimCl and the already industrial developed Lyocell process. For both processes suitable LCA databases are incomplete so that missing data where reconstructed through the support of a Chemical Process Simulation (CPS) software Aspen Plus®. The study is implemented with a sensitivity analysis on the main inputs of the model, one of the varied parameter brought strong instability of the results.

Abstract
This article reports on the comparison of the expected environmental impacts by Life Cycle Assessment methodology of two cellulose dissolution processes: the laboratory scale developed dissolution process with the ionic liquid BmimCl and the already industrial developed Lyocell process. For both processes suitable LCA databases are incomplete so that missing data where reconstructed through the support of a Chemical Process Simulation (CPS) software Aspen Plus®. The study is implemented with a sensitivity analysis on the main inputs of the model, one of the varied parameter brought strong instability of the results.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
