This review examines Mary Bridges’s study of the rise of the United States as a global financial power through an “infrastructural” approach. Drawing on major banking archives, the book shows how organisational networks, information systems, Federal Reserve support, and overseas personnel enabled American banks to expand abroad and strengthened the international role of the dollar.
